To book an appointment with an Ophthalmologist at Sunshine Coast Eye and Retina in Noosa or Caloundra, please either attend the relevant clinic or phone reception on:
You will require a referral from your GP, Optometrist or Specialist to claim Medicare benefits for your appointment.
Once you have checked in, your vision and eye pressure will be recorded. Usually your pupils are dilated so that your retina can be examined. You will likely have a photograph taken of your macula and retina. Your Ophthalmologist will then review your history and thoroughly examine your eyes. Additional diagnostic testing and imaging is sometimes required, which will usually be performed at the same visit. The Ophthalmologist will then plan and discuss your management with you.
If your eyes are dilated then you may not be safe to drive home. Dilating drops normally last for 4 to 6 hours. Please bring a driver to your appointment or arrange alternate transport as required.
If you require surgery it will be performed at Kawana Private Hospital.
Detailed information regarding your surgery will be provided during your clinic appointment.
